Series: The Lies We Live By
Title: Lie #3: I've Got to Be Good Enough
Text: Ephesians 2:1-10
The Truth: God's grace is our only hope to have right relationship with God, with other people, and with ourselves.
How that lie shows up in our lives:
We swap "got to" for "get to."
We shatter the shame cycle.
We serve the purpose we were made for.
Discussion Questions:
We implicitly fall victim to this lie by neglecting to prioritize God's Word in our lives. What are some ways we can keep God's Word a priority?
A common source of relational conflict flows from unmet expectations. How have you seen unrealistic or unhealthy expectations upon God create tension in Christians lives?
Spiritual Health involves (1) a healthy diet of God's truth, (2) daily commitment to exercising faith, (3) resting in the Lord through whole-life surrender which is spiritual worship. Which of these 3 components do you thrive in? Which one do you struggle with the most? Why?
God's people are called to pursue holiness. What are some other pursuits that often get in the way of this?
We are "born into a living hope" according to God's Word. Too often we fail to live that way. Spend some time identifying truths from God's Word that can become an arsenal of "eternal hope" and how can we leverage it in our lives to impact our world? Pray
